Tulsan Reprises Role in Opera, 51 Years Later

TULSA---When the opera ‘Lucia di Lammermore' hits the stage this weekend at the Performing Arts Center, it will have at least one thing in common with the last time it was performed in Tulsa. Actor and Tulsa lawyer Dick Rusk will be in the chorus, just as he was in 1958.

‘I believe I am the only person involved in the 2009 production who also was in the 1958 one,' said Risk, ‘I was a 16 year old junior at Will Rogers High School when the company sought out additional choristers, and was fortunate to be selected. There is a photo on the wall at the opera center of that production, and I was standing upper stage left.'

Dick is glad he had the experience 51 years ago because he won't have to memorize the music, he already knows it.

Lucia di Lammermore is a production of Tulsa Opera and will be performed Friday October 16^th and Sunday October 18^th.
