Successful Race For The Cure

Dear Viewers,

I have finally caught my breath after this year's Race for the Cure and I want to say thank you to everyone involved! We had more people at the race than ever before and raised a record amount of money!

The Komen Tulsa Affiliate is reporting 11,600 people participated and we raise $721,000. This about a 9% increase over last year!

That money will be granted to local programs to help women in their fight against breast cancer. Words can't express my appreciation for this year's response!

Now we turn out attention to October and breast cancer awareness.  

Women are encouraged to get their yearly checkups, do monthly Breast Self-Exams and for women 40 and over, remember to get that mammogram.

I'll be out and about throughout the month and I encourage you to send me pictures of you in pink and I'll post them here!
