TULSA, OK -- Several fights broke out at about noon Friday among students at Union High School, 6636 South Mingo Road.

The fights were gang related, according to an arrest report.

Officers with the Tulsa Police Department responded to the school to help security. As officers walked to the location of the fight in the commons area, a fight broke out between two students. Officers handcuffed one student. As the officer handcuffed the student, other fights started in other areas of the school, according to an arrest report.

All field deputies were called in to help, as well as many Tulsa Police Department officers.

According to an arrest report, while one group fought, someone would text another group who started fighting. Groups of students gathered and incited the groups to fight.

SKYNEWS 6 recorded video of about half a dozen students being escorted out of the school by police officers and sheriff's deputies and loaded into a Tulsa Police transport van.

In a news conference, Union High School Principal Dave Stauffer said 11 students were involved in the incident.

Four of the students were 18-years-old. Robert Hienes, Steven Johnson, Howard Jones and Bryan McGruder were each arrested on a complaint of incitement to riot.

Stauffer said that at no time did the incident rise to the level that would have required the school to be put on lockdown and students were dismissed from school at the usual time.
