Tulsa's Most Wanted Suspect Arrested In Wichita

WICHITA, KS -- Lawrence "Man Man" Ballard was arrested Saturday in Wichita, Kansas as a five-month violent crimes task force investigation concluded.

Ballard was a fugitive for first degree shooting death of Colby Harris on April 28 in Tulsa.  He was also wanted for second degree robbery of University of Tulsa students on August 1.

Investigators received tips from Crime Stoppers after Ballard was profiled on the America's Most Wanted web site. Officers followed tips from Tulsa to Texas and then finally to Wichita, according to a press released from the U.S. Marshall's Office.

Tulsa police officers and other area lawmen joined in the violent crimes task force in Wichita and arrsted Ballard after a 20-hour surveillance of a known associate's house.

Ballard was taken into custody and booked into the Segwick County jail where he will face extridition to Tulsa.
