TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police have a suspect in custody for the shooting of a 17-year-old teen. James Williamson, 24, was arrested on two felony complaints of shooting with intent to kill and one of possession of a firearm with the serial number removed.
Williamson was arrested in the 100 block of West 63rd St. North. He had a .38 caliber revolver in his possession at the time.
The arrest stemmed from a shooting incident at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday when a 17-year-old Tulsan was shot in the torso while walking down the street with a friend in the 500 block of East 58th Street North.
The shooter surprised the two men by coming out from behind a residence and opening fire.
"He did not say a word and just started shooting," said Sgt. Brian Hill with the Tula Police Department.
The suspect and victim knew each other, according to the police.
"The altercation stemmed from some kind of prior property dispute that has been ongoing for the past couple of weeks," Sgt. Hill said.
The shooter ran off, and police are searching for the suspect. There were numerous witnesses to the event.
The 17-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
