TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police have identified a woman killed in a deadly auto-pedestrian accident. It happened near Pine and Newton around 9:30 on a rainy Wednesday night.
The victim was identified Thursday morning as Brenda Stewart, 26.
Tulsa Police Sgt. Mike Brown was on the scene after Stewart was struck by two cars. She was first hit by a white Cadillac then was struck by a car going the opposite direction.
"The victim was dressed in extremely dark clothing," Brown said. "The visibility, you can see is very poor. The weather obviously makes that even more difficult for drivers."
The driver of the first car, a white Cadillac, stopped. The driver of the second car, a brown over green Volvo, left the scene.
Police say Stewart may have been talking to someone in a car in the street when she walked into the northbound lanes and was struck by a vehicle.
The impact threw her into the southbound lanes where she was run over by another vehicle.
The police are still looking for the second vehicle. Anyone with information on the accident are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS.
