OAKHURST, OK -- An Oakhurst family lost their home to fire overnight Sunday. The family of four was aided by the American Red Cross after fire destroyed their house in the 6600 block of South 60th W. Ave.
The Oakhurst Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire at about 3:30 a.m. but the structure fire was too advanced. Berryhill Fire provided mutual aid in the blaze.
The two adults and two children displaced by the fire received financial assistance from the Red Cross to buy food, shoes and clothing according to a release by spokesperson Nellie Kelly.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
