JENKS, OK -- A Tulsa-based ministry hopes to save souls by sending shoes to kids in Iraq. World Compassion Ministries collected more shoes on Thursday night during a concert at the Jenks RiverWalk.
The donations pushed the ministry closer to its goal of collecting 5,000 pairs of shoes this month.

"We're able to give kids in Iraq a new pair of shoes and also a Bible that's illustrated in their own language. And, we get to tell them about Jesus. So, we use the shoes as a hook, but at the same time, what kid wouldn't like to receive a new pair of shoes," said the ministry's Jason Law.
A World Compassion team will head to Iraq next week to deliver another 9,500 shoes to children in need.
