Tulsa's Owen Park Celebrates 100 Years

TULSA, OK -- Dozens of people attended a ceremony marking the anniversary of Tulsa's first park.

It's the 100th anniversary of Owen Park, 560 North Maybelle Avenue.

Park officials say a great feature at the park is a new playground.

"The playground is done. They're now putting some mulch down and they're leveling that out. They'll have to water that a little more, come back and tweak that, but it's looking great," said Bob Hendrick, Tulsa Parks.

One person suffered from a heat-related illness during the ceremony and was taken to a Tulsa hospital to get checked out.
