Airport officials say the new rates will better match similar fares from across the U.S.
"The new rate structure allows us to inform airport users of their expected fare before they leave the airport. With the elimination of the $8 surcharge, the rates are also more in line with average fares throughout the United States," said Jeff Mulder, Airports Director.
Under the new rate structure, estimated taxi fares, $24 to downtown Tulsa, $42 to the Southern Hills Marriot and $16 to the University of Tulsa.
Officials say those fare estimates are based on one passenger with one piece of luggage.
