OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- The Oklahoma Corporation Commission on Wednesday announced which days offices will be closed to allow employee furlough days.

Funding cuts have prompted the OCC to close the offices to cover unpaid days-off for workers.

The closures will include the OCC's offices in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.  It also applies to the OCC's Oil and Gas Division District Offices in Bristow, Kingfisher, Duncan and Ada.

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission will be closed on the following days:

  • Monday, August 10
  • Friday, September 4
  • Monday, October 19
  • Wednesday, November 25
  • Thursday, December 24
  • Monday, January 4, 2010

Additional furlough days are expected in 2010.

The Oklahoma Public Employees Association is urging its members to reduce travel and make other cuts to avoid furloughs.

The state treasurer says revenues are down 30% because of the recession and low energy prices.
