TULSA, OK -- Another republican has announced plans to run for mayor of Tulsa.
Former City Council member and radio host Chris Medlock says he's running to use city government to build up Tulsa's neighborhoods.
Medlock made the announcement during a news conference Wednesday morning at the Tulsa Press Club.
Medlock says for too long, the city has focused on building up downtown at the expense of the rest of the city.
"As you can tell, I'm making no promises for bold new initiatives or sparkling new projects. It's time to concentrate on the nuts and bolts of city government to create a safer city, more livable city, the kind of city that children growing up in Tulsa today will remember as fondly as I remember the Tulsa of my childhood," said Chris Medlock, (R) Mayoral Candidate.
Medlock has two opponents for the republican nomination.
The general election is in November.
