TULSA, OK -- Paul McCartney will kick off a month-long celebration of the BOK Center's first anniversary.
An official with LiveNation, McCartney's tour promoter, made the announcement at a news conference Wednesday afternoon at the BOK Center.
Tickets for the August 17th concert go on sale Monday, July 20th at 10 a.m.
The BOK Center is the only arena in the U.S. to host a McCartney concert on this tour; all the other stops in the country are stadiums.
The news actually broke Wednesday morning, after Paul McCartney's guitarist, Rusty Anderson, listed two concert dates on his MySpace page that were not officially announced.
The blog showed a concert schedule with Anderson playing at the BOK Center with Paul McCartney on August 17th.
Another concert showed Anderson playing with McCartney at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas on August 19th.
Both concert dates were removed from the MySpace page, according to the blog, however Cowboys Stadium's web site has now confirmed the August 19th concert.
Highlights from the BOK Center's past year include visits from the Eagles, Bruce Springsteen, Celine Dion, Billy Joel and Elton John.
