TULSA, OK -- A man is in serious condition after being shot in his home on Monday morning. It happened at about 4:15 a.m. at 2nd and Sandusky.

Tulsa Police say the shooting happened when someone broke into the man's home.  Officers said the victim, identified as 36-year-old Otis Colbert, and his girlfriend were asleep when they heard a noise at the backdoor.

The man told the woman to hide while he went to check the noise, police said. The woman heard a gunshot and then saw her boyfriend stumble back into the room with a gunshot wound to the chin.

EMSA's Tina Wells said Colbert was transported in serious condition to a Tulsa hospital.

Officers say nothing was stolen from the house.

Records show the victim has previous drug convictions and currently has a drug case pending against him, which makes detectives believe the shooting was drug related.
