TULSA, OK -- City of Tulsa employees are getting an extended 4th of July weekend, but it's not by choice.
Thursday is the first of eight furlough days for city workers.
That means all city offices are closed and the council will not meet.
The furloughs were approved as a way to help Tulsa offset a shortage of millions of dollars for the new budget year which started Wednesday.
