TULSA, OK -- Slash, Madonna, Prince and even the Jonas Brothers are making a stop in the Tulsa area. At least their clothes are. Millions of dollars worth of clothes, instruments, and other items from pop icons will soon be on display as a Catoosa casino joins the Hard Rock family.
The Cherokee Casino known for its sea of slot machines has hit the jackpot. Millions of dollars worth of memorabilia, like a guitar belonging to Prince, are part of the casino's transformation into the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
The Cherokee Casino is getting outfitted for its new moniker Hard Rock Tulsa.
Warwick Stone has been with Hard Rock since 1982.
"There wasn't anybody doing this before I came along," said Warwick Stone.
Stone has had a hand in the not only the design, but the collection. He says he bought a dress worn by Spice Girl, Ginger, from Sotheby's for more than $60,000. Other items were donated, like a one of a kind Versace super-mini dress worn by RandB hit maker, Mariah Carey.
There is also an outfit from Madonna.
"And. this is for the number, Dress You Up in My Love. And, she comes out in this crazy outfit," said Hard Rock's Warwick Stone.
Crates of memorabilia have yet to be unpacked. All in all, there are $2 million worth of Aerosmith costumes, Dwight Yoakum boots and ZZ Top guitars that will decorate the casino.
The hotel will have its grand reopening on August 3rd.
