JENKS, OK -- There is a bright, shiny new Reasor's grocery store in Jenks. The grand opening was Wednesday morning. The opening included an unexpected celebration for one of Jenks' favorite citizens.
Linda George arrived at the Reasor's near 101st and Elm in a big limousine. She was the honorary first customer. The mayor of Jenks was there to read a proclamation. The mayor said it was his first time to read a proclamation over a grocery store intercom.
Linda George taught third grade in Jenks for 46 years and generations of former students turned out to take her picture.
At the deli, they have breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Jeff Reasor says the store is just about the ultimate supermarket.
"It is. There's not another store like it in the state of Oklahoma," said Jeff Reasor.
This is the third Reasor's in Jenks. The first one opened back in 1988.
