ENID, Okla. (AP) -- As a strike continues by civilian workers at Vance Air Force Base the private contractor and one of its subcontractors are advertising jobs left open by the strikers.
The Enid News & Eagle reports the ads were placed by CSC Applied Technologies and PRI/DJI in Wednesday's editions of the newspaper.
Members of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 898 went on strike early Monday after negotiators failed to reach an agreement on a new contract.
The CSC ads are for aircraft as well as maintenance and shop positions. PRI/DJIs ad is for mechanics, technicians, clerks and drivers.
Union official Jerry McCune says the union believes the ads are immoral.
CSC spokeswoman Caroline Longanecker issued a statement saying the company is willing to restart negotiations and that it has no plans to hire new employees at the moment.
