NORMAN, OK -- University of Oklahoma graduates who have gone through a commencement ceremony now will attend college convocation events.
OU held its annual commencement ceremony on Friday night, with university President David Boren authorizing the issuance of 4,208 degrees.
Pulitzer Prize-winning author and historian David McCullough delivered the address at the ceremony at the Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
The 97 doctoral degrees were awarded Friday night, while those of the bachelor's, master's and professional variety will be handed out Saturday during 17 college convocations.
Among the speakers at those events will be U.S. Rep. Tom Cole of Moore and Lt. Gov. Jari Askins.
