Flood Damage Closes Mayes Co. School

CHOUTEAU, OK -- Chouteau Public Schools have called off school for the remainder of the week.

The Mayes County school district called off classes after the restoration firm advised the district to cancel classes. 

The restoration crews have been cleaning up classrooms damaged by flood waters earlier this week.

Chouteau School officials tell the News On 6, classes will resume next week but not in school buildings.

Officials say they are working with churches in the community to hold classes until school ends later this month.
