Creek County Deputies: Homeowner Shoots Burglar

The Creek County Sheriff's Office says a homeowner shot a man who knocked on his door and then pulled out a knife.

DEPEW, OK -- Authorities are investigating a shooting in Creek County, west of Depew.

About noon Wednesday, the Creek County Sheriff's Office was called to a burglary in progress at a home near 52000 Old Highway 66, according to a news release.

Upon arrival, deputies found 38-year-old Roy Dale Parr Jr. with a gunshot wound to the upper right leg. An investigation revealed Parr broke into the home while armed with a knife.

The resident, Jeb Lacey, retrieved a gun and shot Parr.

Parr was taken to St. John Hospital in Tulsa in serious condition. He admitted to being under the influence of meth.

He is expected to be released from the hospital within 48 hours and will be booked into jail on a complaint of first-degree burglary, according to the release.
