JAY, OK -- A man who police say shot a Delaware County Sheriff's deputy will be sentenced soon.
Authorities say 31-year-old Jeremy James shot Deputy Steve Brownell in the arm, causing extensive nerve damage.
Brownell underwent months of physical therapy before returning to work. His dog Chico was locked in the car when he was shot and suffered damage to his teeth when he tried to chew his way out.
Both Brownell and Chico have recovered.
