TULSA, OK -- More people are pleading with the postal service to keep the Kendall Whittier station open.
The post office is set to close May 1.
On Friday, three state lawmakers held a news conference to put a spotlight on the situation. They say Congress passed an act in 2006 that gives the postal service power to close other stations and branches without notice, and they're hoping for help from Washington.
"We need leadership," said Rep. Seneca Scott, D-Tulsa. "And we're trying as a community to rally to come together and say we want to save this thing."
The post office says its decision is final, but Peggy Fielding isn't giving up without a fight. She's filed a complaint with the American Civil Liberties Union of Oklahoma.
