TULSA, OK -- Some Tulsa kids are using their imaginations to take them all the way to Tennessee.
Twenty-five kids from Tulsa's McKinley Elementary School came in first place at the Oklahoma Destination Imagination Tournament last month.
In the contest the second- through fifth-graders are given phrases and have to come up with a skit to demonstrate them.
"It's really scary, but it's also very exciting 'cause you like get to think of it all by yourself and no teachers tell you what to do," fourth-grader Victoria Hilliard said. "They can't tell you if it's wrong, and it's really cool."
The kids have a chance to compete in the global finals in Knoxville.
So far, the students have raised about half of what they need to get to Knoxville, but school officials say they need about $7,000 more to cover the cost of the trip.
