BROKEN ARROW, OK -- A slumping economy is partially to blame for the closing of a Broken Arrow pet store.
The owner of Love-a-Pet says sales have slowed considerably in recent months and that, along with mounting medical bills, made it impossible to keep going.
The store closed Thursday, leaving 14 employees without a job. The store had been open for 24 years.
All of the animals, which included dogs, cats, reptiles and fish, were transferred to other pet stores before closing.
