TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa Public Schools employee has resigned amidst a corporal punishment investigation.

Superintendent Keith Ballard tells The News On 6 Erica Ivey is leaving her job as secretary for Hawthorne Elementary's principal.

Three employees at Hawthorne were suspended last month after allegations a student was hit with a yard stick.

TPS prohibits the use of corporal punishment, even though it is legal in Oklahoma.
