TULSA, OK -- Hillcrest Medical Center and the Tulsa Fire Department have reached an agreement on how patient information will be released.
Fire officials were frustrated because they didn't learn about two deaths after meth fires from the hospital, but rather from newspaper obituaries and the medical examiner's office.
Hillcrest officials say the release of the death information was delayed because it's hospital policy to notify next of kin first and in both cases, they had not talked to the families when the fire department called.
