TULSA, OK -- You can help support the troops this weekend all while shopping.  The Blue Star Mothers are holding a garage sale this weekend at the Alameda Shopping Center at 21st and Sheridan.

The proceeds from the sale will help the organization with mailing costs so they can continue to send freedom boxes to troops overseas.

Teresa Nightingale says, due to the economy, donations have been down and they are hoping the sale will bring in more money.

"We pretty much wipe out our finance in December and we did have a big donation from the Elks Club that helped us send boxes last week.  We are really in dire need to send freedom boxes to the troops," said Blue Star Mom Teresa Nightingale.

The sale continues until 6 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

In addition to the sale, the Blue Star Mothers are also accepting cash donations.  They're hoping to raise $2,500 to $3,000 this weekend.
