OWASSO -- The fish population in an Owasso lake jumped over 100,000 in a just few hours Tuesday.
The newly-made lake at the Stone Canyon master-planned community just east of town was stocked with fish trucked in from Arkansas.
The fish released were:
90,000 Blue Gill
18,000 Catfish
9,000 Crappie
9,000 Bass
9 lbs. of fathead minnows
"We wanted to establish a long-term amenity to benefit the entire community for generations to come," said Stone Canyon developer David Charney. "We have established a 110-acre lake and stocked it with a significant number of fish that will be available to the community to enjoy for many, many years in the future."
A small crowd gathered to watch the specialized tank-trucks flush their live cargo into the 110 acre lake.
