TULSA, OK -- Power outages were reported around midtown Tulsa on Tuesday afternoon.  PSO reported that at least 8,700 addresses were without electricity.  The problem was caused by an equipment failure near 11th and Yale.

The outages are in an area from Utica east to Memorial and from Admiral south to 31st Street.

Two Tulsa Fire Department stations were affected by the outages.  Manual backups had to be used for station doors at Station 7 near 15th and College and Station 22 near 15th and 73rd East Avenue.

Some residents didn't see complete power outages, but brownouts where the power was on, but lights were dim.
