Sapulpa Teen Wins Basketball Design Contest

SAPULPA, OK -- A Sapulpa freshman has won Spalding's nationwide contest to design a basketball.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Desmond Mason helped unveil Zackary Pickering's new design Wednesday morning.

"I enjoy (basketball)," Zack said. "I play it for fun, but baseball's my sport."

Zack's school gets a supply of the basketballs, and Zack gets some of his own. He also gets a $1,000 basketball goal.
