SAPULPA, OK -- A man is injured after his car crashed into the side of a west Tulsa motel Tuesday morning.
The accident happened at around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Gateway Motor Inn at Skelly Drive and 57th Street.
Sapulpa Police say the driver lost control of his car and ended up ramming it into one of the motel rooms.
The room was vacant at the time.
"If someone was in that room, the section where the bed actually is was impacted by the car so if someone would have been in that room it would have been a lot worse than it actually is," said Sapulpa Police Lt. David Jones.
The driver complained of head and back pain and was transported by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital.
Sapulpa Police say the driver's blood sugar was also extremely low, but they're not sure yet if that played a factor in the crash.
Police say the man's injuries didn't appear to be life threatening.
