Richard Roberts Dismissed From Lawsuit

A judge has dismissed former ORU President Richard Roberts and his wife from a lawsuit filed by a student.

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A Tulsa County judge has dismissed former Oral Roberts University President Richard Roberts and his wife from a lawsuit filed by a student against the university.

District Judge Michael Gassett on Tuesday ruled that Richard and Lindsay Roberts should be dismissed as defendants.

Former student David Brown is suing the university, claiming that ORU's wrongful termination of his professor in 2007 prevented him from completing his degree.

The Roberts' attorney says the lawsuit is a dispute between the student and ORU and that his clients never should have been named in the lawsuit.

The judge also rescheduled a hearing in the case for July 15.
