Baby's Body Discovered In Rural Hughes County

HUGHES, CO -- A twisted case of death and deceit is unfolding across two states.

Authorities in Hughes County have discovered a wooden box containing the remains of a 4-month old girl.

The infant is one of three babies Daniel Rinehart of Missouri fathered with his young daughter.

Rinehart is charged with their deaths.

Rinehart lives in Harrisonville, Missouri but buried one child in Hughes County where he used to live.

Rinehart's brother says the case has torn his family apart.

"It's hard for me to understand what's going on because I'm still that little kid remembering him taking me to football games," said Rinehart's brother Gary Rinehart.

The remains of two other babies were found inside coolers in Missouri.
