Events Benefit Family Of Sperry Fire Victim

SPERRY, OK -- The Sperry community is coming together to help a family devastated by fire.

Earlier this month, flames swept through a mobile home, trapping 6-year-old Derrick Hansen inside.

When Derrick's great-grandmother heard what happened, she had a heart attack and died.

On Saturday, the community gathered for a silent auction and bull-riding benefit.

On Sunday, there's a special concert, the Kirk and Melissa Acoustic Show, at the Sperry High School auditorium from 2-5 p.m.

All the money goes to help the Hansen family pay for funeral expenses.
