OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A former judge who went to prison for exposing himself by using a sexual device while presiding over trials must forfeit the judicial portion of his retirement following four felony convictions.
The Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System Board of Trustees Tuesday accepted an administrative hearing examiner's decision that former Creek County District Judge Donald D. Thompson had violated the oath of his judicial office when he was convicted.
Thompson served about 20 months in prison after being found guilty in 2006 of four felony counts of indecent exposure for his use of a penis pump while presiding over trials.
Thompson's Tulsa attorney, Rob Nigh, asked that Thompson's entire retirement benefit of $7,789 a month be reinstated.
If that couldn't be done, Nigh asked that his retirement benefits stemming from the five terms he sat on the bench with clear conduct be reinstated.
Nigh says Thompson will appeal the panel's decision in Oklahoma County District Court.
