LONE GROVE, OK -- A Lone Grove church is helping residents pick up the pieces days after a tornado devastated the close-knit community.
The First Baptist Church has a makeshift lost-and-found storage filled with pictures and mementos found from the storm's debris. Several residents were able to find some of the most prized pieces they thought they had lost.
"We have the more personal effects that are here at our church, and it's just been an amazing thing," church member Linda Crosswhite said.
Valuable properties like jewelry and guns can be claimed at the police station.
Other volunteers like Harold Newman continue to help residents clean up their memories and destroyed homes. He said people in the small town need to help others in their time of need.
Many of the storm victims said they are living each day as it comes.
State Rep. Tom Cole, R-Moore, toured Lone Grove on Saturday and saw how residents were helping each other.
