BROKEN ARROW, OK -- A Broken Arrow man is allowed to keep his miniature horse at his home, a jury determined Friday.

The jury found Greg Copeland not guilty of violating a neighborhood covenant that said it was illegal to keep cows, goats, sheep or horses on residential lands.

Copeland argued that the horse, Dakota, was a household pet. The family would have had to pay a fine if convicted.

"The city is obviously disappointed with the verdict, but we respect the jury's decision," Broken Arrow spokesman Keith Sterling said.
