INDEPENDENCE, Kan. (AP) -- A Kansas-based fuel supplier for seven Midwest states says it would probably issue a statement later on retailers' claims that this week's fuel deliveries never arrived.
Crescent Oil special projects manager Robert Lopez tells The Associated Press that for now the Independence, Kansas company had no comment.

Several retailers in the Midwest said that without warning or explanation from Crescent, Wednesday's regularly scheduled deliveries did not arrive. Numerous operators in southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri were affected.
Speculation about the fuel supply problems sparked rumors of localized fuel shortages and drove up gas prices.
A check of federal courts in Kansas did not turn up a bankruptcy filing for the company.
Crescent Oil distributes fuel to more than 340 locations in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Illinois and Louisiana. The company is a wholesale supplier of Conoco-Phillips, Shell, Valero and British Petroleum gasoline.
