AMES, Iowa -- Freshman Willie Warren scored 29 points and No. 4 Oklahoma closed the game on a 13-2 run to beat Iowa State 78-68 on Saturday for its ninth straight win.
Blake Griffin had 23 points and 15 rebounds for the Sooners. Griffin has scored at least 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in four straight games.
The Sooners (21-1, 7-0 Big 12) trailed 66-65 with 5:13 left, before Warren and Griffin both scored to put Oklahoma up 69-66.
Austin Johnson followed a block by Griffin with a 3-pointer to give the Sooners a 72-66 lead, and Griffin hit a long turnaround jumper as the shot clock expired to make it 74-68 with 48 seconds left.
Craig Brackins had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Diante Garrett had 17 points and 10 assists for Iowa State (12-9, 1-5). The Cyclones have lost 12 straight to ranked opponents dating to 2006.
