CLAREMORE, Okla. (AP) -- The Burgess-Norton Automotive factory in Claremore will be shut down by September and its 25 employees laid off.
Illinois-based Burgess-Norton Manufacturing Co. says the plant is closing because of continuing deteriorating conditions in the automotive and the commercial trucking industries.
The plant produces piston pins that are used in heavy-duty diesel engines and as recently as last year had about 80 employees.
The company plans to move the work done in Claremore to factories in Italy, Wisconsin and Illinois.
