Thousands Of Oklahomans Still Without Power

Eight Electric Cooperatives across Oklahoma are reporting 25,326 customers are without power due to the ice storm.

UNDATED -- Thousands of Oklahomans are still without power.

Eight Electric Cooperatives across eastern, southeastern, and northeastern Oklahoma are reporting 23,191 customers are without power due to the ice storm.

The peak outages were around 10:00 Tuesday night when 38,788 people were without power.

The hardest hit cooperatives are as follows:

Ozarks Electric Cooperative, Stilwell:                   9,915 outages
Lake Region Electric Cooperative, Hulbert:          8,700 outages                                            Cookson Hills Electric Cooperative, Stigler:           2,547 outages                                               East Central OK Electric Cooperative, Okmulgee: 1,500 outages


Crews from several non-affected Electric Cooperatives from across Oklahoma are assisting the impacted systems. Power restoration efforts will continue through the weekend and into next week in the areas where damage is the most extensive.

It's estimated that there will be some areas where electric service may not be restored until Monday or Tuesday of next week, due to the severity of the ice storm damage.

Public Service Company of Oklahoma reports they are back to normal operations.

About 1,000 OG&E customers in Muskogee and McIntosh Counties are without power.
