OKLAHOMA CITY -- Two runaway teenagers who are suspected of stabbing an Oklahoma City man were arrested Tuesday in Texas.
Brittany Herrera, 15, and her boyfriend Matthew Fox, 17, were arrested in the Forth Worth, Texas area, Oklahoma City Police Sergeant Paco Balderrama said.
Herrera's father, Leroy Herrera, was found stabbed to death Saturday night.
The victim's stepson told a police investigator that Matthew Fox, 17, said he "would cut the victim's throat," and made the threat as recent as a week ago, according to an affidavit filed in the case.
Fox was upset about the way Leroy Herrera was always "fussing" at his 15-year-old daughter, Brittany, the affidavit stated.
Arrest warrants have been issued for Brittany Herrera and Fox, who had been staying in her room for two weeks without her parents' knowledge, the stepson told police. Neither has been charged.
The medical examiner's office said Herrera was stabbed twice in the neck.
