OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a man killed when his semi skidded off the Turner Turnpike was a Tulsa man.
Troopers say 37-year-old Marcus Hawthorn died in the crash on the rain- and sleet-slickened turnpike near Chandler about 12:45 yesterday afternoon.
Troopers say Hawthorn lost control of the rig and it went off the turnpike and rolled onto its top.
Hawthorn was the first of at least two weather-related traffic fatalities yesterday.
The OHP says 21-year-old Renard Johnson Jr. of Tulsa was killed about 2:30 p.m. when his sport utility vehicle skidded into the path of a semi on I-44 near Afton.
