HOUSTON, TX -- The bad economy means a reduction for an oil giant. ConocoPhillips is cutting 1,300 jobs.
The News On 6 called company headquarters in Houston. They said the company doesn't know how many of those layoffs will be at the company's Bartlesville or Ponca City locations.
A company spokesperson told the News on 6, ConocoPhillips will take the next few months to study its world-wide productivity, and then decide where to cut employees.
The oil giant blames the layoffs on tumbling crude oil prices and a dismal global economy.
