TULSA, OK -- They've done it. In less than a week, the Union Junior ROTC raised the $35,000 needed for a place in history.
The group was invited to march in Barack Obama's Inaugural Parade at the last minute. The students weren't sure they could raise that kind of cash so fast. But, they did and say help came from across the nation, including checks from Virginia, Montana and Ohio.
Now, the Union students will represent Oklahoma. The 80-plus cadets and chaperones leave Friday.
