TULSA, OK -- Firefighters blame a meth lab for a house fire on South Columbia in Tulsa. Neighbors called 911 when they saw smoke pouring out of the windows. Crews got the fire under control quickly. But, when they found evidence of a working meth lab, they evacuated and called HAZMAT.
Firefighters say meth labs make a dangerous job even more hazardous.
"We could've had a firefighter involved in an explosion. The fire could've gotten out of control and literally caused a structure collapse. Something that would've caused or injured a firefighter and that's unacceptable. It's a public safety risk," said Tulsa Fire Captain Michael Baker.
Tulsa Police are still looking for the people responsible.
