OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- More than 75 fewer people died in traffic accidents on Oklahoma roadways in 2008 compared to the previous year.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Thursday there were 689 traffic-related deaths on Oklahoma roads in 2008. That compares to 766 fatalities in 2007.
December also was less deadly in 2008 than the previous year. The OHP reports 54 people lost their lives on Oklahoma roadways in December 2008, compared to 68 traffic deaths in December 2007.
