CLAREMORE, OK - Thursday was kind of a dismal looking and feeling day around Green Country, and there is a place in Claremore that just might cheer you up. It is big and pink and all decorated for the holidays.
The Pink House has been a Claremore landmark since 1982. It is located inside a Victorian style house built back before statehood. Margo Stewart bought it a little over a year ago.
"We're so busy in our lives now and we need a place to come where we can enjoy each other's company," said Pink House owner Margo Stewart.
The place is all decorated for the holidays.
This room is our tea room it has the tea Christmas tree," said Margo Stewart.
Next door is the snowflake room. It has a tree decorated with snowflake ornaments.
Up front is a very special tree.
"This one is the Zebra tree," said Margo Stewart.
Her son's the Claremore Zebra's men's basketball coach; she located a zebra tea pot, but couldn't find any ornaments, so she made some.
Margo's dream is to offer regular daily tea, complete with scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream. It's heavy cream whipped with sugar and a good helping of sour cream folded in.
The daily, afternoon tea is scheduled to begin after the first of the year.
