A federal appeals court has upheld the conviction of a former Tulsa preacher sentenced to die for killing two people in 1993.

DENVER, CO -- A federal appeals court has upheld the conviction of a former Tulsa preacher sentenced to die for killing two people in 1993.

Julius Young was given the death penalty for the beating death of 20-year old Joyland Morgan and her 6-year old son.

Tulsa Police say Young killed them after breaking into their apartment.

Young filed a petition to appeal the death sentence, but the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, upheld the conviction.
